Council Meeting

THAT the draft agenda presented to Council and dated the 9th day of June, 2020 be adapted as circulated.

THAT the Minutes of the Regular Council meeting held May 26th and the Special Council Meeting held June 4th, 2020 be approved as circulated.

THAT By-law No. 2020-17 being a By-law to govern the proceedings of Council, Local Boards and Committees of either, the conduct of its members, the calling of the meetings and to establish rules of order be read a third time and passed this 9th, day of June, 2020; AND THAT said By-Law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk, and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

THAT By-law No. 2020-18 being a By-law to provide for the regulation of Open Air Burning in the Municipality of East Ferris be read a third time and passed this 9th, day of June, 2020; AND THAT said By-Law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk, and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris deems it expedient to pass three readings of the following by-law at this session; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-law to close and convey a part of the original shore road allowance, described as part of the original shore road allowance along the shore of Kittenmink Lake in front of & adjacent to Part of Lot 9, Concession 1, lying SW of Part 3 & 4, 36-R10032; Township of East Ferris, District of Nipissing, BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2020-20; AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

THAT Council acknowledge the correspondence and information as circulated with the agenda and dated the 9th day of June, 2020.

THAT Council for the Municipality of East Ferris hereby nominates Councillor Lougheed as a Director for the Rural Caucus for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) for the 2020-2022 Term of the AMO Board of Directors.

THAT Council approve the general accounts for the Municipality of East Ferris as indicated in the cheque register(s) dated June 9th, 2020 in the amount of $228,777.13.

THAT this meeting proceeds to In-Camera session at 7:02 p.m., under Section 239(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c.25 in order to address a matter pertaining to: personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees; a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board.

THAT we do now adjourn this In-Camera meeting at 7:58 p.m. and return to our regular session of Council.

THAT Council for the Municipality of East Ferris directs staff to engage in discussion with Dégagné Carpentry to examine whether there is an opportunity to partner with Dégagné Carpentry for the development of a medical clinic in East Ferris.

WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris deems it expedient to pass three readings of the following by-law at this session; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-law to confirm the proceedings of Council from May 26th, 2020 to June 9th, 2020, BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2020-21; AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

THAT we do now adjourn at 8:00 p.m. and meet again on June 23rd, 2020.
