Special Council Meeting

THAT the draft agenda presented to Council for the Special Meeting and dated the 2nd day of June, 2022 be hereby adopted as circulated.

THAT Council of the Municipality of East Ferris accepts the recommendation from the Director of Public Works contained in Report No. R-2022-04 and approve that tender EF 2022-03 for Granular Materials in the amount of $195,907.53 including H.S.T. be awarded to Pioneer Construction Inc. for the 2022 construction season.

THAT Council of the Municipality of East Ferris accepts the recommendation from the Director of Public Works contained in Report No. R-2022-05 and approve that tender EF 2022-04 for Lake Nosbonsing Road – Shoulder Paving in the amount of $609,707.50 including H.S.T. be awarded to Pioneer Construction Inc.

THAT Council of the Municipality of East Ferris accepts the recommendation from the Director of Public Works contained in Report No. R-2022-06 and approve that tender EF 2022-05 for Single Surface Treatment in the amount of $481,129.93 including H.S.T. be awarded to Duncor Entreprise Inc.

THAT Council of the Municipality of East Ferris accepts the recommendation from the Director of Public Works contained in Report No. R-2022-07 and approve RFQ EF-2022-06 for Winter Sand in the amount of $48,770.80 including H.S.T. be awarded to Miller Paving Northern for 2022.

THAT Council of the Municipality of East Ferris accepts the recommendation from the Director of Public Works contained in Report No. R-2022-08 and approve tender 2022-07 for Patch Paving in the amount of $111,812.39 including H.S.T. be awarded to Miller Paving Northern.

WHEREAS the Municipality of East Ferris recognizes the important social, environmental and economic value of healthy watersheds to our residents, visitors, businesses and eco-tourists; AND WHEREAS the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority is a community-based, environmental organization which has been providing leadership in watershed management to the Municipality of East Ferris and our neighbouring municipalities since 1972; AND WHEREAS the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority plays a crucial role in supporting science-based decision making in watershed planning, development, resource management, flood forecasting, drinking water source protection, water quality monitoring, conservation land management, stewardship and education; AND WHEREAS the Municipality of East Ferris recognizes, appreciates and values the expertise, advice and leadership of the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority in balancing human needs with the needs of the natural environment on a watershed basis; AND WHEREAS the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority recognizes that protecting and conserving our watershed relies on collaboration and cooperation with individuals, organizations, and communities and is celebrating its 50 th anniversary by recognizing others who are “watershed heroes”; NOW THEREFORE in honour of the 50 th Anniversary of the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority and NBMCA’s contributions to the social, economic and environmental well being of the Municipality of East F

THAT this meeting proceeds to In-Camera session at 9:55 a.m., under Section 239(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c.25 in order to address a matter pertaining to: A proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board.
