Council Meeting

THAT the draft agenda presented to Council and dated the 11th day of February, 2020 be hereby adopted as circulated.

THAT the Minutes of the Council Meeting held January 28th, 2020 be approved as circulated.

WHEREAS the Economic Development Committee recommended to Council to request municipal staff to perform a review of municipal policies and by-laws that pertain to local business operations in order to facilitate business growth in our community; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that Council approves of this recommendation.

WHEREAS the East Ferris Centennial Celebration Committee recommended to Council to approve the Municipalité East Ferris Municipality 2021 Centennial Celebration Plan, Plan Fête du centennaire 2021 as presented in draft; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that Council approves of this recommendation.

WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris deems it expedient to pass three readings of the following by-law at this session; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-law to amend By-law No. 2019-22; a By-law with respect to the establishment and requirement of the payment of fees for information, services, activities and use of the Corporation`s property, BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2020-08; AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

THAT Council acknowledge the correspondence and information as circulated with the agenda and dated the 11th day of February, 2020.

THAT Councillor Kelly be approved to attend a one day session of the 2020 Northeastern Fire Education Conference being held in Huntsville at the Deerhurst Resort and Conference Centre from March 27th to 29th, 2020.

THAT Council approve the general accounts for the Municipality of East Ferris as indicated in the cheque register(s) dated February 11th, 2020 in the amount of $392,499.60.

WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris deems it expedient to pass three readings of the following by-law at this session; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-law to confirm the proceedings of Council from January 28th, 2020 to February 11th, 2020, BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2020-09; AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.
