WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris formally objected to the application for a class “A” licence to operate a quarry above the groundwater table by 1851477 Ontario Inc. due to several concerns; AND WHEREAS Council requested that the applicant undertake several steps to attempt to address Council’s concerns which included undertaking a traffic study, and developing a complaint protocol, and communications protocol all to the satisfaction of the Municipality; AND WHEREAS the applicant has now provided Council with a copy of the traffic study and the protocols; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that Council accepts the traffic study and protocols in principle; AND FURTHER THAT Council directs staff to work with the applicant to develop a haul route agreement and include more wording to make for more robust protocols that address Council’s and resident’s concerns; AND FURTHER THAT Council agrees to not participate in the Ontario Land Tribunal case should all of these matters be resolved.
