Council Meeting

THAT the draft agenda presented to Council and dated the 28th day of June, 2022 be adopted as prepared.

That the Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held June 14 th , 2022 and the Minutes of the Special Council Meeting held June 21 st , 2022 be adopted as circulated.

WHEREAS the Police Services Board recommended to Council to approve the attached annual review of the Community Safety and Well Being Plan; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that Council approves the prepared annual review of the Community Safety and Well Being Plan submitted by the Police Services Board.

THAT Council for the Municipality of East Ferris accepts the recommendation from the Director of Community Services contained in Report No. PLAN-2022-06 and approve the request made by Ian and Jody Martyn (23 Durrell) & Chris Amey and Karen McClenaghan (27 Durrell) to deem a section of unopened road allowance between their properties to be surplus be approved; AND WHEREAS this would allow an application to be made to purchase the lands and that the future sale would be done in accordance with the policies laid out in By-law No. 2218 and valued at a rate of $0.75/sq. ft. as set out in the East Ferris Fees and Charges By-law.

THAT Council for the Municipality of East Ferris accepts the 2021 Fire Department Activity Report for the East Ferris Fire Department as outlined in the Fire Chief's Information Report No. FD-2022-04.

WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris deems it expedient to pass three readings of the following by-law at this session; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-law to license and regulate the use of Short Term Rentals in the Municipality of East Ferris, BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2022-36; AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris deems it expedient to pass three readings of the following by-law at this session; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-law to close and convey a part of the Road Allowance adjacent to 652 Astorville Road, described as Part of the Original Lakeshore Road Allowance in front of Lots 14 and 15, Concession 4; Part 1, Plan 36R-14853 Township of East Ferris, District of Nipissing, BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2022-37; AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.

THAT Council approve the Correspondence and Information as circulated with the agenda of June 28th, 2022.

THAT Council for the Municipality of East Ferris supports resolution from the Town of New Market passed at their regular meeting of Council held May 9 th , 2022 regarding the Mandatory Firefighter Certifications .

THAT Council approve the 2022 Strategic Plan Progress Report as prepared and presented.

THAT Council approve the general accounts for the Municipality of East Ferris as indicated in the cheque register(s) dated June 28th, 2022 in the amount of $897,339.80.

WHEREAS Council for the Municipality of East Ferris deems it expedient to pass three readings of the following by-law at this session; BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT a By-law to confirm the proceedings of Council from June 14th, 2022 to June 28th, 2022, BE READ a first, second and third time, passed and numbered 2022-38; AND THAT said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and sealed with the Seal of the Corporation.
